Die cut flower - stretching my dies

Hello dear friends,

I am a relatively new to die cutting, so I don't have many dies. But I love to stretch my limited supplies and I wanted to do the same for this card. The challenge this fortnight at Cupcake Inspirations is 'white out' and if this was itself not very daunting, I tried to incorporate die cutting with this.

Let me take you through how I made this super simple card.

1. I carefully die cut the cardstock with the leaf die. Curled the upper tips of the now - no more leaves but petals, to give some dimension.

2. I took a card base and adhered my die cut panel with a foam tape. Then at the center where the petals meet I put some glue. I put a very little quantity as I wanted the petals to not stick flat into the die cut shape. Then I placed my curled up petals.

3. Finished it off with a sentiment and a glitter bead for the center of the flower. I also used my glitter spectrum noir pen for some sheen on the petals. Too difficult to capture in the pictures though.

Here are few better pictures of it.

Though am unable to capture the sheen of the spectrum noir,  but I hope you can imagine how it would be.

Am very happy to be able to make this card and stretch what I have in my kitty. As they say, necessity is the mother of invention.. But only if you are on a budget! :P

If you have not yet participated in the Cupcake Inspiration you still have a week. Hope you'll challenge yourself with this fortnight's theme 'White out'.
