White Lily - CIC 440

Hello everyone,

This fortnight we have a new challenge for you at Cupcake inspiration challenges. It's a White out - Colour challenge. Oh I love colours and to think of having just white, was a little intimidating but I LOVE challenges, don't you?

I had my Uniko Lily stamp out, because of my previous card and this year's resolution of atleast making two card with one set before putting it back, made me use this flower. And white + lily = Sympathy card. Though I hope I never get to use it!

I used white embossing powder for heat embossing the lovely lily. I stamped two images, cut them around the edges and stuck few petals on top of each other. The background is inspired by Yana Smakula's card that I saw a couple of months back. And I had been waiting to create the similar bg. What had been stopping me was, that I don't have a scoring pad. So I did some measurements and scored the lines using the groove of my paper trimmer and used nuvo drops to get the quilted look. Voila.. isn't that pretty? (blowing my own trumpet!) The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I hope you like it too and will participate with your rendition on white out and also get a chance to be randomly selected to win a gift certificate from our sponsors Poppy stamps!

  1. What a great resolution and your card is stunning! I ♥ that you used vellum for the lily and the embossing is the perfect extra detail. I still prefer the scoring groove on my portable paper trimmer over the scoring pad! The quilting effect is just gorgeous with the added nuvo drops. You scored big on this card!

  10. Ishani, your elegant design is just stunning!
Love the combination of the double-vellum-lily with the scored background.
Although it's a beauty, I hope your wish comes true and you don't need to use it for a very long time! (But it's always a good idea to have some sympathy cards in stock, cause in case you need one, you maybe won't have the mood to craft...)

Thanks for sharing your card with us in the Uniko Challenge Gallery!
    Greetings from Wiebke (DT)
