Inspired by Loll - CASE 4

Hello dear,

Welcome back! Continuing with learning more from Loll, I have this card. This time the look and the layout is what I copied shamelessly. And as I noticed that the challenge CAS Mix up get your skills and techniques - up, I thought let me do a mix up of my CASEing with the latest challenege there. I did have a card that I made but then, it'll be posted next time! The card that I am CASEing today is this, what a beautiful layout.

The  technique I used for this card is similar to this card's, but I didnt have distress crayons, so I checked CAS Mix up list of videos.. and saw a video called Heated crayon technique. Voilaa.. crayons.. my son has an amazing stash of squishy scribbled crayons, so I asked him.. Ishir will you help mumma for this card. A 3 yr old, loves to HELP !

So, this is how I did this card. scribbled rainbow colours and melted them, actually heating the paper and scribbling helps more (as also suggested in the video).

I recently bought a Butterfly stamp from an Indian company Mudra craft. I stamped it in Archival ink, let it air dry ( it takes some time and I didn't want to put heat as it might get the colours melted).

Then I fussy cut it.. used a dark brown colour for it's edges and popped it up over stenciled leaves. Tadaa...

I have to Thank you Loll. For this series is being such a learning.. may be after this I can develop my own techniques :P (just kidding). Reading your work and the way you admire other's work and CASE them, it's so inspiring. Learning never ends even when you are Loll Thompson! And I learn one more thing from you, admiring other's work :)

Hope you like my card.

  2. Beautiful card Ishani! LOVE how you were able to "borrow" from your son to create a pretty multi-coloured background. When I saw your finished card I was just blown away by the beautiful butterfly - WOW!! And it looks perfect over your stenciled leaf. You have really made this your own creation with the techniques you have used. You are able to master techniques on your first try! Very inspiring Ishani! 1. Aww.. it's like getting the best marks in the class and the teacher announcing to the students, how well Ishani wrote the answer :D. I am thrilled to see that you liked my card, Loll. Thanks to CAS mix up providing the video links, I could make use of those humble crayons. But the real reason is that beautiful butterfly card of yours. So pretty and delicate.. I am glad that I have been reading your blog and getting confidence in trying new techniques. Thank you so much Loll. Am so blessed to get to learn from you.
