Hello everyone,
It is an honour to be part of this Thyroid awareness blog hop organised by Milka Gubo. January is Thyroid Awareness Month and Milka along with 25 designers all over the world have been sharing their creations starting from 5th January till 30th January.
The aim of the hop is to support Thyroid Awareness Month and to raise public awareness of the importance of the Thyroid Gland and problems it can cause when not working properly. Also make our readers aware of the need for preventive screening and early detection of thyroid disease to avoid unpleasant illnesses and dangerous complications.
I would request you to please check Milka's blog (here) where she has written in a very explanatory manner about thyroid related issues, how do you recognise if it's an early sign and other informative links.
Here is the card that I've created inspired by the fact that the Thyroid looks like a butterfly.
The hop will last 5 more days. Each day one designer has shared her handmade project on her blog, this is the list along with the links to the designers blog/post. If you have missed checking the wonderful creations, you can start from here:

Here is the card that I've created inspired by the fact that the Thyroid looks like a butterfly.
I took the Butterflies stamp set from, Mudra Craft stamps , stamped it in Memento Tuxedo black and clear embossed it for the gloss. Then I took three shades of blue distress inks to sponge my butterflies. Die cut a white panel from Penny black's antique frame dies and stamped this lovely sentiment from the stamp set - Daffodils by Jane's doodles, and heat embossed it just like the butterflies. I used craft foam to mount it on an A2 sized top folded blue cardstock and used foam dots to place my butterflies at the corners.
I hope you like my card and are more aware about the thyroid gland. If not aware it can cause havoc with our lives. I must share that we often feel that it's women who have thyroid issues (my mother and mother-in-law both have it), but it's also with males. It happened to be with, my husband. He had suddenly lost a lot of weight and was tired most of the time. We gave the stress at his office the reason for the drastic changes, in his body, appetite. But even after a month when it didn't stop, a blood check showed that he had - Hyperthyroidism. It's going to be a year, he is on meds. But the good part is that with regular blood screening and doctor visits, his meds have reduce (the dosage needs to be regulated as per the Thyroid hormones level). We had to do very important changes is in our lifestyle. Exercise has become the most important thing for us now including yoga, along with almost no processed foods and healthy nutritious meals. Naturopathy and Ayurveda talk of taking toxins out of your system, in ways that have been followed by yogis for 1000 of years, which is also very helpful. I would like to mention that this is our part of the story, not that this should be done, but it helped us.
I hope nobody has to go through any health problems, but awareness will lead to precaution and precaution is better than cure. Be healthy and be safe!

A beautiful card Ishani - yes, I have been aware of thyroid issues as I had two friends and also my Brother in Law affected by them! My doctor is always very pro-active and when I need blood tests he checks for a wide spectrum of issues, thankfully, incliuding thyroid and diabetes.
