Hello everyone,
Welcome to my project for the "It's A Girl Thing: Turner Syndrome Awareness 3rd Annual Blog Hop and for this year we have added a Card Challenge so that more people can play along with us! I remember when Lori was contemplating to have this hop or not, in the mid of 2020, because of how the world had turned into and that everyone was fighting their own battles. But, I am glad we are doing it again and for being a part of it for the third year. Here's what I made for the 1st Blog hop in 2019 and here is the one I made in 2020.
The Nature doesn't stop and hence we need awareness about this genetic disorder even more. Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born with only one X chromosome, instead of two, leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,000 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!
23 Caring and Generous Sponsors and 12 Design Team Members are offering prizes to a commenter and card makers and they are helping bring Turner Syndrome Awareness to the Public. For details on how you might win any of these fabulous prizes, please see Lori's TS home page. Thank you for learning about Turner Syndrome.
Prize Winners will be announced on March 13th, 2021.
My TS related project is inspired by the TSF Mood Board.
I chose the butterflies and the pastel colors from the mood board. The purple butterfly is the symbol for Turner Syndrome and I did not want to give it a miss.
I used MFT's Beautiful butterflies stamp set for the butterflies and the sentiment is by Pretty Pink Posh's Love sentiment stamp set. The dies I used are Catherine Pooler's Slimline esssential dies and the embellishments are Ranganjali's stardust sequins jewel mix.
I am giving away a cute stamp and a die to one lucky person, chosen using random.org,
who comments on my blog.
I also have a video for this card on my You tube channel.
One thing I have noticed in the last 4 years of being in this cardmaking community is -
love, warmth, encouragement and most importantly that we are a very sensitive community.
I have hardly come across any one rude or insensitive. I think we need to be torch bearers for the society at large, to talk and show through our crafts the importance of spreading awareness.
Like someone not very famous, said - "May none of us ever need it, but may we all be aware".
