Altenew: A Year In Review: Crafters’ Edition Blog Hop #2 + Giveaway

 Hello sweet crafters,

I am thrilled to be joining amazing artists of Altenew and Guest designers for the biggest blog hop of the year at the  Altenew: A Year In Review Crafter's edition Blog Hop #2 + Giveaway and showcase my favourite - which I know you loved too, because you gave me your immense love and encouragement for these projects.

You should be arriving here from the very talented and my lovely friend SathyaKala's blogyour next stop is our favourite crafter Amy Hill In case you get lost in your hop, you can go back to the Altenew Blog and start from there or check the list of Designers listed there.

This year I dedicated more time to Watercolors and have 5 fantastic projects, that I am very proud of and thought of sharing them here with you for this Lovely hop. I also tried to do something different this year - I tried framing my projects - that can be given to friends and the beautiful products that Altenew carries, makes it very easy to make some quick DIY gifts.

COSMOS MEADOW

Have you tried watercoloring your dies with the lovely Altenew 24 pan set watercolors ? I took out the beautiful  Craft-a-flower Cosmos layering dies for this project and after diecutting the flowers with watercolor paper, I colored them with the pinks, greens and yellow.

Here are some pictures of the process.

For the background I did loose watercoloring with blues for the sky, green for the leaves and blobs of pink to imitate the floral meadow background.

I added my flowers and leaves and for the sentiment I turned to my most used sentiment stamp - True friends stamp set which has some of the most lovely sentiments!

PAINTING WHITE FLOWERS WITH WATERCOLORS

I started with stamping Paint - a -flower - African Daisy stamp set with Silver stone ink (Therese's work made me buy it) and first masked all the flowers and leaves with masking fluid - colored my background black, removed the masking fluid and then with hints of yellow, purples and grey colored my flowers and then the leaves.

I used my one of the most used dies - Mix and match frame dies for the frame and found a perfect off white cardstock for the base.

Similar to this, I made some watercolor projects each showcasing different techniques and I have a video where I show how I make these that you can watch here.

WATERCOLORED GALAXY AND CONSTELLATION

This year I also have turned my art work into frames. They are lovely as gifts and people tend to save it more than the cards ( in my opinion). I tried water coloring a galaxy with the lovely Altenew 24 pan set watercolors.

This one was actually a child's play! I used some light colors like yellows and pinks and light blue first and the created depth around them with darker colors. For the Libra constellation I used a White Gel pen and drew the stars and the lines that when joined make Libra constellation.

And this can be custom made to any constellation and make a perfect birthday gift! Don't you agree?

MY OWN WALL ART - MONSTERA LEAF
I am a Plant lover and being one with a green thumb, I thought of checking if my fingers are green too! Got it? Green fingers - that can color well :P

Monstera leaves are drama in themselves and I love the way the patterns and the Swiss cheese look is different in every leaf of the same plant. I did some free hand drawing of the leaf and used yellows, greens and blues for the lovely leaf.

I plan to make some more leaves and frame them together in my living room, admist my beautiful indoor plants.

VINTAGE LOOK WITH EMBOSSING FOLDER
I tried watercoloring with dye inks with my ABSOLUTELY FAVOURITE -  Craft Your Life Project kit - Garden RoseI smooshed the Altenew inks in Coral Berry and Rubby Red for the Roses and Sunray, Caramel toffee and Paper bag for the leaves and spritzed mist of water and dry embossed. You can check my latest You tube tutorial video where I show some ideas for using your watercolors with embossing folders.
I also swinked with some brown inks on my Deck planks 3 D embossing folder and dry embossed it. I added a strip of gold mirror cardstock between the two dry embossed panels and Antique Gold Sequins
to add a little more bling. Also I have lately been adding some beautiful texture on my envelopes and did the same here with the gorgeous rose embossing folder on a kraft envelope.

I fell in love with Craft Your Life Project kit - Garden Rose so much that, last year I made 7 Cards with creative Ideas - full of different techniques that if you have not watched my video tutorial.. I know for sure that you have MISSED SOMETHING FANTASTIC!

Over $500 in total prizes! Altenew is giving away a $100 gift card to 1 lucky winner, 3 $50 gift cards, and 27 $10 gift cards. Winners will be chosen from both blog hop #1 and blog hop #2. Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog HERE by 12/28/2022 for a chance to win.
