Hello and a warm welcome to my Blog!
I am so thrilled and grateful to be part of the amazing New release of March 2023 Stamp/Die/Stencil & More Release collection. If you are coming from the very talented Nathalie's blog you are at the right track. If not, then you can start from my blog or go ahead and start from Altenew blog.
I must admit I love the Japandi Vibes of this release!!! Who doesn't love Japanese style of design? And Japanese + Scandi = Modern and Elegant! The products in this release are absolutely versatile - You can tell I had sooo much fun creating projects from this release, I have some cool designs, to inspire you to to stretch these supplies.
STUNNING SAKURA BASKET
I love when you can make quick cards and the stencils make it so easy. With the embossing folder I did some quick inking of the folder and embossed a Creme cardstock to get the wicker basket color. I then cut it with scissors to make a basket and chomped the corners with corner punches. I am imagining a Geisha holding a wicker basket and carrying the Cherry blossoms to decorate her chamber (wink)!
WAVES OF THANKS
These two cards were sooo quick to put together. The Wave Panel die is intricate but cuts clean and I used it for this design by diecutting Gold Mirror cardstock and a maroon cardstock from it. Also on the same cardstock I did some Dry embossing with the rubber mat. If you are not familiar with the technique. You can watch my video where I show how to dry embossing with dies, here.
On the dry embossed panel it is very easy to adhere the die cut panel and I chose contrasting cardbases for both the cards and adhered it. For the sentiment I thought of using
Vertical greetings die cuts differently by sticking it with glue, horizontally underneath the die cut panel.
RED CROWNED CRANES
I was very excited for these Red Crowned Cranes layering dies as they will be perfect not just for cards but for wall art too and I love making home decor and gift to my friends.
The Embossing folder from Land to Sea is sooo cool too. The illusion it makes looks stunning. I chose a teal cardstock and used versamark on the folder to deepen the crevices.
Who doesn't love Pandas? I used the
Black Obsidian ink to stamp the Pandas and diecut them. I used some green inks to stencil on the green embossed cardstock, the bamboo trees and adhered my two Pandas.
I die cut the lower wings with Silver Cardstock and the upper with black cardstock. I used a dark yellow cardstock to cut the body and on the body with finger I applied a gold wax. Assembled the dragonfly and adhered. For the background I applied Persian blue Ink with a brayer on the
Arches 3 D folder and dry embossed a light blue cardstock
