TO - Monochromatic Pop up Alpha dies - Rakhi card - Altenew

    Hello crafty friends,

We have an INSIRED BY PHOTO challenge at Time out challenges and we challenge you to make cards on our theme - Monochromatic

We are generously sponsored by Varada Sharma with two $15 gift certificates for two winners (one chosen by Design team and other chosen randomly).

It is July And we Hindus have our Rakhi festival coming soon. For which I send the thread to my brother and I always make a card for him. Here are my cards for the past few years for Rakhi and a little about this festival/holiday. My brother is in the Army, so I thought why not have the Army colors on my card. The real reason is that lately I discovered my stash of dark green cardstock that is usually out only for Christmas cards... hehe.. so you may see me using dark green more!

I chose my most used Alpha dies - Caps Bold alpha dies by Altenew for making the word 'Bhai' which means Brother in Hindi and I chose Altenew Coonect 3D embossing folder for a CAS design with some texture.

I have been enjoying Dry embossing my die cuts and including them in the classic die cutting techniques. Here, I die cut the letters in lighter green cardstock and popped them in the negative space of the cardstock and added the textured letters on top.

I hope you like my CAS Rakhi card! We have, the very talented Stephanie Serrano of Stephanie's Stampin' Spot and most frequently on Instagram at @22Stepanieserrano as our Guest Designer for this challenge. Hop on to her blog to see her beautiful take on this photo.

Check out a video where I have similar cards with these techniques  and hope to see you join us at the challenge.
Sending crafty hugs
