AECP 2 - Color Your Day - Mini stamp, Mega flowers

Hello everyone,

Here is an assignment for my Altenew Educator journey of Level 2, which is based on the class of one of my favourite cardmakers - Therese Calvird in her Color Your Day Class.

I love playing with Colored cardstock and this class and generally also I love the way Therese - makes color pop. Her way of teaching you is so good and when you see how she was inspired, you start looking around yourself and pick up things - Quick & Easy and with Pop of color. In one of her examples, she colors has color and pattern all over her card but she left the flower - just plain stamped. That really struck a chord with me and I thought of doing something similar. Also, her rule of 70:20:10 is something I wanted to try, but in a Color Your Day fashion - and eliminating neutrals.

In Lesson no 1 -she reminds us of the Altenew Challenge and I went and took the colors from the challenge of this month. Then I took a Mini Stamp - Dogwood Stamp and stamped on a light yellow cardstock - Used 2 dark yellow Altenew markers from Sunshine Valley Garden Artist Alocohol markers to color the inner side of the flower and some brown for the pollen. There is hardly any coloring but yet the flowers look so pretty!

I die cut the leaf from the Laelia layering stamp and die set and adhered on a Dark pink cardstock and adhered the flowers in a way it created a bunch like Laburnum flowers. These flowers have a great significance in Hindu community and offered to our Gods. I added some dew drops to finish of the class.

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE! The balance of that white space is screaming to give all attention to the floral cluster.
