AECP Level 3 - Transcending Tattoo techniques

Hello there!

I am so glad you stopped by at my blog <3 Today I am sharing with you my Homework for Jaycee's Transcending Tattoo techniques that I absolutely enjoyed. It was a great learning about this art form and various different ways of incorporating Tattoo techniques - for cardmaking. Also this class was a Cool reminder to see the art around us for creative inspiration!

I deliberated for some time about which stamps to choose and after going through my stash chose this design as this would incorporate different techniques that I learnt during his lessons. And will be a great way to combine them for this Work.

I chose the design by putting a combination of lessons - primarily inspired with the white and black Dot work lesson (6). The coloring of the rose and leaves were done as per his Lesson 2 where he teaches about Sailor Jack Flash Tattoo style and the Graphic coloring. I added the splatters and drips as taught in Trash Polka lesson 3. Loose watercoloring that you see around the leaves is inspired by Lesson 4, but it is actually Alcohol inks in green that I added from the backside of the paper and added drips with alcohol pens.

The most interesting thing for me - was to come up with something that incorporates the techniques and also could be a real Tattoo! I really wanted to incorporate an animal or insect and had to use Neenah's desert storm cardstock to replicate skin and the contrast of the inks that are quite common in tattoo art.

This was supposed to be a card but I thought it would be perfect for a frame too! I chose the adorable Panda from Roaming Pandas stamp set and the Rose in the front is from Craft your life Garden Rose and a diecut leaf to imitate bamboo leaves from the Hibiscus garden set.

Ok, the only thing I will leave you guessing is - how did I color the Panda?

I am very pleased with how this turned out, I hope you like it too!!
