Hello everyone,
I am so excited to share my LAST homework for AECP level 3 and the thought of the AECP coming almost to a an end. AECP level 3 took me a long time because I actually looked for enhancing the skills I have not been confident about. From learning to use textures to coloring to tattooing and now Scrapbooking!
I love to look at beautiful layouts, documenting lives with pictures and all things beautiful. But I always thought I can't do Scrapbook Layouts. Firstly, in my head you need lot of paper, elements, embellishments and JUST THE RIGHT stuff that fits the theme of the layout. I am a Frugal crafter also someone who can't shop to just increase my crafty inventory. So, I am so happy that I tried this class and I am very happy about this layout. I must thank the teachers of the class - Fabulous Florals Scrapbook class - Lilith and Maryam, for their in depth lessons and a way to STRETCH my stamps and dies to incorporate in a layout. Last night I decided, even if no one will make cards in the coming future, now I will definitely will document my life in layouts :D
The lessons were quite informative and descriptive. They were filled with ideas that I could easily follow and bring them to life in my own work. I have always been scared - of how to bind the photos and colors and layouts, but both the instructors gave great tips and tricks along the way, that I found the confidence in doing it myself. It did take some time - to decide what to do! I have a son and I wanted to document his baby time but I just couldn't decide which stamps or dies I could use to make it more BABY and also a bit 'not girly'. So this is what I did!
Any Altenew fans here? Can you guess the foliage I used? I took the leaves from the prettiest dies ever..... Garden Picks 3D die set and made a wreath - taking cues from Maryam's Floral wreath lessons with all the different colored cardstocks in my stash and took the color wheel to get my foliage in the right color order.
Birds are my favourite! You will see them on my cushions, in my decor, in my accessories and when my son was a toddler, I got some cute Bird curtains for his room. And I thought - wow, I am glad I bought Bird of the Mountain die set :P I used a holograhic sheet I had, to cut the lower part of the bird to give that shimmer the birds have in their feathery body. This may not look like a real bird to you but actually in my head it does look like a bird we call Neelkanth, in India and a bird we consider auspicious to Spot.
I used Mighty Alpha dies (now retired) for the BIG and used a label maker to print Dream.
And that's about it :)
I hope you like my layout and if you did please do let me know in the comments below.
