Lesson 1 - White space

Hello everyone,

Now that I am a full time crafter, I thought of taking some lessons. What could be better than MFT’s Educational series, Summer School 2018. Though I don't own many MFT products, I'll use whatever I have. Also, I am a bit late for the challenge there, but not late to learn.

The first class is of white space and the Video tutorial by Laurie Willson was so inspiring, I had to use the elements learnt there, in my homework. As my embroidery hoop die was still out, I thought of making a card incorporating the lessons. I have two boxes of my crafty bits, a small and a big one. I came across this beautiful scrap piece from my inspired by Loll series cards attempts. I knew it will look pretty behind the cross stitched heart.

I die cut the circle and the heart and the sentiment - hello from white cardstock and craft foam. I embossed horizontal lines with my paper trimmer on the front panel. Using the rule of thirds – assembled the card, some floss in a bow and nuvo drops to embellish. And wow.. it looks pretty!

Another angle to show the embossed lines.

Someone who loves to emroider or cross stitch would surely like it. What do you think?
What grade would you give me?

  6. What a stunning card Ishani - love the way you used the 'waste' from you other project, and the scoring is subtle and does not take the eye away from the focal point, but adds to the overall look of the card
