Hello everyone,
I am so glad you stopped by at my blog and I am thrilled to show off this gorgeous Rose that I made for my homework for Altenew's level 2 Educator's Certification Program for the class of Polychromatic. I know - This Monochromatic card may not match with what I just said. But in the Class the instructor, Nina, has a lesson of using soft pastel colors for a beautiful background - and I thought why not use her idea - and make it BOLD!
I am sooo thrilled with what I could achieve! Can you guess what I have done here?
I chose one of my favourite Altenew Stamps - Rose Tea (some other cards with this set - here, here and here) for this card and started with Stamping the Rose with Crimson ink and also made a mask that was later used to stamp the leaves in Obsidian Black. And I must admit when I started coloring it with Red Copic family on the Coral cardstock, I was not sure if I will be able to leave the right amount of Coral as highlights, or at the folds of the petals and sometimes I even lost my lightest color, but I came back after all my copic coloring and used a White pencil with a colorless blender pencil to give highlights to my Petals and leaves.
I still am learning but am very proud of how this card turned out. More because, I don't think I would have even attempted a Monochromatic card with a Bold red. Sometimes, life shakes you and tells you - you are the only one - who is stopping you!
And I hope I will stop limiting myself.
You can see some other ideas using the same stamp in my You tube tutorial

ReplyDeleteIshani this card----WOW! So dramatic and just spectacular! I did the total opposite idea for this class. I am excited to watch your YT tutorial!
ReplyDeleteHi Ishani, Aileen forwarded your message to her on to me as I now run The Flower Challenge. Your question was about whether this would qualify for the colouring challenge at The Flower Challenge and the answer is yes, absolutely! Colouring monochromatically is not easy and you absolutely nailed it. But thank you for asking and thanks for playing along at The Flower Challenge.
