Inspired by Loll - CASE 3

Hello everyone,
Hope you had a good weekend. I am out enjoying a car trip to a nearest town to visit a zoo and pray at a very special Hindu temple in the west of India. Today is the day I share my CASE of one of Loll's creations. The reason is, to develop some better understanding of how colors work and learning from the specialist herself. The last two cards that I CASEd are here and here.
This week I am CASEing this beauty

I used the Ganesha stencil from an Indian brand Craftangles and Faber Castell glass bead over the sponged stencil. Though Loll had used a stencil for the background too, I didn't. I just sponged Squeezed lemonade, Festive berries and Spiced marmalade - distress inks and spritz it with water.

The sentiment says 'Shubh Labh' in Hindi. Lord Ganseha is the God of good beginnings. 'Shubh' is like praying to Lord Ganesha that whatever is auspicious, it should come to you and 'Labh' means that one should be benefited by all the Shubh th…

CIC # 445 - Hand drawn Florals

Hello everyone,

So glad you came here. This fortnight at Cupcake Inspirations we have Newton's nook as our kind sponsor. Unfortunately, I didn't own floral stamp from Newton's nook to make a card for our Floral Theme challenge. So I did some doodling and made the flowers and fillers and some stamped leaves for the card.

I had done similar flowers last year and thought of CASEing my own card. I used Ranger Emboss it pen for the spiral flowers and, white heat embossed it and used Gansai Tambi watercolours to color them. The blue buds and the rose like leaves are stamped images from a stamp set, rest are hand drawn. The sentiment is from the Uniko Originally Organic stamp.

I must admit that the Loll series of cards that I am CASEing have given me  umpteen confidence with watercolours. I am rather surpised and happy with my attempt on this card.

Hop on to the blog to get inspired by the gorgeous florals the Guest DT from Newton's Nook and  our DT have created and join us …

As active as ants

Hello there,

The cue at CASology is so me! Active.. :P  and ants .. well you know they are active always! So here's my rendition to Active and I have to thank Michele, for the sentiment! I thought of this sentiment as I can use it for many occasions, or put it up at our office to buck up my troops.

I was inquisitive to know, if the ants sleep. Here's what I found!
People ask me where do I get my energy from.. may be the ants give a clue.. coz they are fond of sugary, juicy melons too! ... Hope you like my card.

Rainbow bubbles

Hello dear bloggers,

Thank you for visiting my crafty corner. I have a very cool card today. I remember seeing baubles done by Ardyth this way and I recently found out how I could achieve this look, while doing my Love ewe card, when I did the heart for the background.

I cut circles off post-it and used them as stencil. The sentiment is from Catherine Pooler stamps that I won in a giveaway from Deepti Stephens.

Hope you like it!

Guest at Muse #263

Hello everyone,

I am so happy to be a guest at Muse for this week's challenge. It's a great honour and am so thankful to Ardyth for inviting me to be a guest. The talented team of Anita, Ardyth, Kim Higgins and Tracey have always inspired me, I hope I inspire you too!

Though I had plans to do some quilling for this Muse, but then I received the Originally Organic stamp from Uniko recently and I couldn't keeps my hands off them. With most of us enjoying spring, it does fit in the season, too. I tried partial die cutting technique with this card with the floral image as well as the scalloped edges of my base card. For a change, I used a brown ink to stamp the images, coloured with my Zig clean colour markers and stamped the flower with distress oxide ink.

Here's the Muse for this week

Hope you are inspired by this card and will join the Muse card club with your interpretation.
Thank you for stopping by, happy week ahead :)

Inspired by Loll - CASE 2

Hello dear,

Welcome back! Today is the day I share the second CASE of Loll's cards. If you haven't seen my first post, I would love you to check it here.

Loll has a page dedicated to videos, it's a treasure of techniques. I loved this fun technique that I tried for my second card called, Splash watercolouring. Here's the Video that inspired me and here's the card.

I loved the white embossing shine through the splashes and tried the same with my card. The beach chair is from Bo bunny stamps - Life's a beach and I white heat embossed it. I used distress inks in Antique linen distress ink as sand and Broken china for the sea and the sky. I was a bit scared for my sand and sky to get very harsh, so I restrained my use of more layers. I realized my beach chair and parasol weren't visible enough, so I used some markers to colour the stripes of the chair and the parasol.

You must be thinking, it's nothing similar to Loll's card. In this card I have CASEd …

Love Ewe CIC #444

Hello friends,

Reminding you to join us at Cupcake Inspirations where we have a colour challenge for this fortnight. You still have four more days to play and get a chance to win Bugaboo stamps, who are our kind sponsors.

I have not been making cards this past week as I just lost my grand mother. She has looked after us when me and my brother were babies. Now, that I see my parents so attached to my son, I can feel how important we were to her. The void can never be filled. She had been struggling with Parkinson's since past 20 years but her hugs and the way she held my hand were as tight as ever. She loved that I was exploring this field of craft and had loved the New year card I had sent to them. My mother used be an oil paint artist and my grand mother always encouraged her. This is the first card that I made after I gathered myself up and is dedicated to her. Love you Ammi.. We'll miss you!

Sorry, got a little emotional. Here's the card.

Fashionista's card

Hello crafty friends,

I have a really fun card you today.. actually two cards. However,  I took opinion of a couple of my friends.. but none of them understood - the BRAG.. and thought it was a bra! duhh.. nothing for creativity 😕 So I did another card, in the similar lines, which was easy to put together as the design was the same.

The stamp is from Elizabeth craft design and I used Gansai tambi watercolours and tombows for colouring the images. The sentiment are from Paper smooches - Uplifters set - in both the cards. I tried masking the sentiment for the shadow in pink.

Card 1 That's..Brag, the rose tinted glares being the G!

Card 2

The card is inspired by the perfect days spent with my gorgeous, fashionista friend, Varlin .

(those pink shades 😎)
As I have to be an adult..against my wishes and behave as one too, my play time is shopping, dressing, some make up! But I lack those dressing skills and styling that Varlin has. Having her company, her choices, tips while we shop..…

Hello everyone,

Cupcake Inspirations is live with a new colour challenge, this fortnight and we have Bugaboo stamps as our generous sponsor. Inspired by - Loll Thompson

Hello dear crafters,

It's my birthday today and despite knowing that am getting old,it still excites me. And I have an exciting news for you too.

All of us get inspired in different ways, to me one of the ways is from the artists I follow. One of the great cardmaker, whose cards I have always admired and got inspiration from is Loll Thompson from Stamping with Loll . Being a lover of CAS, loving her work comes naturally. But what's special about her cards is "techniques'. So this will be series of CASEing her cards, to learn different techniques through her blog. (I remember when the first time I read the word CASE, I was wondering what it was, so here for those like me - Copy And Share Everything)

And what could be a better birthday present than Loll's permission for the same and she offering to join me for the first CASE. Can you believe my excitement.. I was yayying the whole day and beaming with joy. So, I have decided to CASE 10 of Loll's card, every mon…
