Pearly Congratulations

Hello again friends,

I love pearls ... love them! So the pearl challenge at CASology and Geometrics at AAA cards made me think of using my pearl embellishments (spheres/ hemisphere..geometry? )  I thought of a simple design for this Congratulations card. I love to accessorize a saree with just a pearl string. that's it. A plain saree and a string of pearls is as elegant as it can get. Why not the same for a card.. ?

I used a grey cardstock, die cut it with my scalloped rectangle as the base of the card. Then I heat embossed a die cut sentiment with Liquid platinum embossing powder and used a black diecut as a layer under it to get a distinctness from the background. I used two size of pearls at the corners and tadaaa... I love how pretty it looks. This has to be the most feminine card submitted for a geometric challenge :P I hope you like it too!

Pearly Lily

Hello everyone,

I have been too busy to craft but I thought I'll make a card or two inspired by the Muse card club where Tracey's lovely card made me think how to color kraft cardstock. My regular pencil colours were not very opaque. I also recently got perfect pearls so I thought let me use that, even CASology has pearls as a cue.

I was intimidated by the kraft base of Tracey's card, but then the perfect pearls looked so pretty when I tried on a scrap kraft piece, I decided to do it. This card is my second attempt as earlier I used smaller flowers but the look wasn't as pretty. So I took out this gorgeous Lily stamp by Uniko and embossed it in white and used perfect pearls to fill in the petals.

The pictures don't do the justice to the sheen. I hope you like my attempt!

Inspired by Loll - CASE 10 - Saturated watercoloring

Hello everyone,

This is my last card in the Inspired by Loll series and though it feels just yesterday that I mailed Loll for seeking her permission, am so glad to get the opportunity to learn from the best. And if you want to know how much I have learnt, the best evidence is the amount of wins and recognitions I have had in the last two months.. most of them CASEs of Loll. So I needn't say anything, just that she's the best and the kindest soul I have come across and I feel blessed to get her blessings!

One of the tutorials on this technique I had seen and felt  'oh so easy' that I wanted to give it a try. But I didn't have the required supplies till now. I just received Catherine Pooler inks along with reinkers by Ardyth Percy Robb, for winning a prize at her blog. Yay.. so now I had waterbased reinkers for the saturated watercolouring! I also loved the pearl look Loll gets by her faux mother of pearl look, but I couldn't try the exact technique as I did not…

Time out Challenges- Gentle Reminder

Hello crafty friends,

As a gentle reminder, for the Time out Challenges I have a card for you, with a different take.  The challenge is Holidays with an optional twist of One Layer Card.

To tell you the truth, when I was introduced to the challenges on the blogland and I saw 'Holiday' as a theme, I always thought going on holiday! So this time I thought why not play.. "going on a holiday". Here's my cute couple - off for holiday.. - Happy Holidays guys!

I used a cute stamp by Brutus Monroe, called Love Suitcase for the couple, hand drew the grass and  used flowers from Jane's doodles- retired stamp called - Garden friends.

I used Zig clean color brush pens for coloring and done some glossy accents for the dude's glasses. No matter how many OLCs I do, they still intimidate me.

Here's my take on the Holidays, what's yours? There is still time to join in, where those who twist with us will get a chance to get in the random draw and one lucky winne…

CIC #448 - Pink lily card

Hello everyone,

There is a new Colour challenge up on Cupcake Inspiration Challenges  for this forthnight. Join us with PINK, YELLOW  and GREEN creations. I  wanted to do a floral card as soon as I got to know the colours of the challenge. The daily marker challenge has made me take concious efforts to try to colour better. I have been watching videos of different artists and one particular video of Yana Smakula, for Altenew stamps, inspired me to CASE the layout/sketch, here's the video link of her tutorial.

I heat embossed my Uniko - Lily Stamp with Rose Gold Embossing Powder. Then I coloured with Zig markers and did some detailing with pencil colours and a fine point pen. I used the same embossing powder to heat emboss the die cut frame for the background.

Pink lily is said to symbolise lomg lasting love and romance, so I chose Happy Anniversary  as I thought it would be more meaningful.

I hope you like my card and are inspired to make a card with these colours. Hope to see yo…

Inspired by Loll - CASE 9 - Stenciling

Namaste dear friends,

Thank you for stopping by at my Inspired by Loll series post. 9th post?? Omg.. orgs going to be over!! This CASE is of Loll's recent card. Though I have tried this technique before (here), when I saw Loll's recent Christmas card, I just couldn't resist to try it again!

Here's Loll's Card
I used a mandala stencil from an Indian brand Craftangles and Faber Castell glass bead gelfor the dramatic look like Loll's. For a little encouragement I used You wafer die from SSS and the sentiment from All about you from MFT. I put glossy accents on 'You' for added interest.

Here's a close up of the card. The glass beads look like a shining starry sky, the pictures just do not do the justice to the shimmer and beauty of it!

I hope you like my take on Loll's play with glimmer paste. I have lately started loving the drama and the elegance Black card panel creates. Hope you'll play with your stencils too!

Balloon Bash again!

Hello dear friends,

So, I made another card, replicating my previous Balloon card. Using Uniko Ltd's Balloon Bash stamp.

I was inspired by the colours of a new blog I came across, of a fantastic artist and a fellow Indian, Deepti Stephens - Create something Catchy!  I thought these balloons were catchy enough and perfect for few other challenges as it gave a masculine touch and will be great to have in my collection to give to little boys!

Time Out Challenges - Guest Designer

Hello everyone,

I am so happy to be on the Time out challenges as the Guest designer for this fortnight. What an honour to be on the same page as the awesome Design team of Time out Challenges.

This fortnight bring in your Holiday theme cards with an optional twist of One Layer Card. The sponsor for this challenge is Seven Hills Crafts.
I chose to do add the optional twist and made a CAS card for one of my favourite holidays,  the Hindu Festival - Diwali.

I white heat embossed the lovely lotus from a stamp called Lotus of prosperity from an Indian brand - Ranganjali. I coloured it using Real brush pens and added sheen with a spectrum noir pen. Though it's difficult to see that in the pictures. I did a little partial fussy cut of the flower and added a shimmer cardstock in the similar colour of the flower to the inside of the card. The sentiment has a look of the Hindi script called Devnagiri, with a line to connect at the top, gives it an Indian touch. If it were in Hindi, it wou…

Adventure begins

Hello there,
I am really enjoying Kathy Racoosin's - The daily marker challenge. And I coloured this cute couple on the 4th day and managed to put it together in a card too!

The stamp is from Brutus Munroe - Love suitcase and I coloured it with Zig clean color brush pens, the background is some distress ink blending! Tadaa..

Well, our adventure begins in the end of June as we shift from our present location to a bigger city. Adventure.. ufff..  packing the whole house.. I am not very fond of.. but looking forward to our new adventure at Pune! Hope you like my cute couple.

Magical Birthday

Hello everyone,

So glad you visited. I have a magical creature card today, to remind you to join us at Cupcake Inspiration Challenges. I coloured the unicorn form Avery Elle - Be a unicorn stamp for my Day 3 of Kathy R's the daily marker challenge. Although, I love that there is not a compulsion to make a card, but I could assemble a quick card with a unicorn already coloured! How handy!

We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs and you could be the lucky winner to win three digi images. Hope you like my card and will join in with your fairies, elves or unicorns.

Happy crafting!

Happy 4th Birthday

Hello everyone,

Many of you know that I love CAS style of cardmaking. I have always loved the minimalistic style and I had that style in my cards, before I stumbled upon the blogland of challenges. But, I never knew it was called CAS. I went back to last years AAA card challenge, where I asked a query.. and Jane explained to me what CAS was..and then now, CAS has become my style!

So how could I not celebrate AAA cards 4 th birthday and my first year of trying to learn CAS?

I thought of showing you, a screenshot of the comment, am glad I asked!

Have you noticed, Jane replies to every comment. So sweet right?
Anyways, coming to my card! I kept it CAS.. because it's AAA's Birthday. I used Winnie & Walter's  typecast Cary numbers cutaways and a sentiment from Jane's Doodles - Cake Stamp set ...that' it! Oh yes and also those enamel dots, which are from an Indian brand called - Letz craft.

Though I wanted to put a th.. to the 4 .. I was happy with the clean look, so…

Inspired by Loll - CASE 8 - wood grain technique

Hello friends,
I am glad you took out time to visit my little crafty place. As some of you  might know that I am doing a CASE series of Loll Thompson's work, this CASE has an amazing technique called the wood grain technique. The technique is inspired by a very talented crafter, Karen D from Snippets. She has a step by step tutorial for this technique, which is super cool and fun. Linking her post here.  The card that I am CASEing is this, though it's more of the technique CASEing.

I went ahead and as explained in Karen's blog , I made this wood grain panel, and I loved it! As I didn't want to cut it, I used the whole panel (with a little trimming) for my card. Now I think I should have used browns, but while making I felt, all brown might not look great.

I used a Catherine Pooler stamp for the encouraging sentiment from the You did it stamp set. And rest is some masculine themed pattern paper and a speech bubble die cut. I hope you like my attempt and would give thi…

Floral card (with my prizes)

Hello everyone,

I finally received a prize sent by Ardyth Percy Robb for being one of the winners in her blog hop in February. And I got it now in May.. but hey..I got it.. yayyy. I had lost all hope that they would reach.. and now I am still dancing. So,I had to play with them.. they are so juicy.. and Ardyth sent me refills too!!

I wanted to use solid stamps because I had seen Ardyth play with Catherine Pooler inks with solid stamps and I loved how they stamped. I planned a floral arrangement inspired by Time out and Uniko challenge. The colours are quite similar and I am sure even you'll feel the elements of both these pictures in my card. The pink flower is from Hampton Arts and the rest is the lovely stamp that I adore from Uniko - Originally Organic stamp set that was a prize I won at AAA cards in Feb.

Here's a combination of die cutting, fussy cutting, dry embossing, stamping and colouring, in this card. It's also my mom's official Birthday today.. the one you …
