Bright and beautiful birthday card

Hello friends,
I have a Birthday card to be shared today. I also want to again remember and thank Melissa Lane, who is an angel in the heaven now for being instrumental in getting me the dies, with which I have created this card.

I saw the Cutploration challenge up at STAMPlorations blog and thought of playing along. The colourful costumes of the models immediately made me realise that I could use Trendy spring blooms Dies- CUTplorations in those vibrant colours.

I die cut the rose flower die, sponged them with various coloured inks and then heat embossed clear EP for a sheen on them. The Happy Birthday stamp is from a Jane's doodles stamp and the beautiful diecut is from Simon says stamp. I heat embossed the black diecut with clear EP too. I love that sheen! I used to use glossy accents earlier, but heat embossing with clear EP is the coolest thing with no mess and no drying time. I arranged my flowers on a diecut stitched edges rectangle and cut the excess of the flowers off. M…

CIC 462 - Reminder - Birthday card

Hello and a very Good morning,
I am here with a reminder for you to join us at our ongoing colour challenge at Cupcake Inspirations with your pinks and whites.

I am a Pinkaholic, though I hate that this is known as a girl's color, because I think men look so good in pink too. But now that it's known as a feminine colour and I need Birthday cards in my stash, I planned a Birthday cake.. in pink for a friend from school time.

I stamped the lovely cake from the Jane's doodles stamp set - Cake! and coloured with Copics. Die cut a white CS with MFT wonky stitches oval STAX - Die-namics . Some glossy accent for my icing and adhered my cake on foam dots. A banner for my sentiment and few pearls to finish off the card.
We have Your Next Stamp as our kind sponsors this fortnight and they are giving away $20 to our randomly chosen winner.

I hope you like my card and will play along.

Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop

Hello everyone,

It is an honour to be part of this Thyroid awareness blog hop organised by Milka Gubo. January is Thyroid Awareness Month and Milka along with 25 designers all over the world have been sharing their creations starting from 5th January till 30th January.

The aim of the hop is to support Thyroid Awareness Month and to raise public awareness of the importance of the Thyroid Gland and problems it can cause when not working properly. Also make our readers awareof the need for preventive screening and early detection of thyroid disease to avoid unpleasant illnesses and dangerous complications.

I would request you to please check Milka's blog (here) where she has written in a very explanatory manner about thyroid related issues, how do you recognise if it's an early sign and other informative links.

Here is the card that I've created inspired by the fact that the Thyroid looks like a butterfly.

I took the Butterflies stamp set from, Mudra Craft stamps , stamped it in…

My beautiful Lilies

Hello there,
I have been wanting to colour florals with my new markers and few challenges made me get this lovely Pure florals - Lily stamp by Uniko (My first Uniko stamp) out for it. And I am glad and super happy at the results.

For the coloured flower I used Memento tuxedo black ink and stamped my lily and coloured it with Copics. I am not a good artist and nobody would want to know which Copic numbers I used, so am skipping that detail. I fussy cut it and as I was planning the placement, I thought of stamping the other flower and the bud on the CS itself. So I stamped them in Memnto Gray flannel ink and used Neutral greys to colour them. Ok.. so I am a CAS girl, splattering on my main image is like 'committing suicide' for me. I may do it.. no no.. not suicide.. I mean, splattering.. but not if it has been coloured with so much care. So I splattered on my base card instead, Grey with - white splatters... Cool no?? ('cool, isn't it?' - that's better english)…

CIC 462 - So happy for you!

Hello dear crafters,
We have a new challenge up at Cupcake Inspirations and this time it is Pink and White. What a pretty color combination, isn't it?

Your next Stamp are our kind sponsors this time and I have used their Birdie banner stamp set for my clean and simple card. I stamped my image, coloured and fussy cut it. I diecut a pink CS with scalloped edge frame die and scored the corners for added interest. Popped my image on foam dots and added few half pearls. Very simple.. but I used restraint to not add anything else.

CAS needs restraint and am not good at it but this looks pretty, though there is a lot going on in this. Hop on to the challenge (here) to get inspired by YNS DT and our design sweeties and hope that you will play with your pink and white take at the challenge. YNS is generously giving $20 gift voucher to our randomly chosen winner, it could be you!

Hope to see you at the challenge, happy crafting.

AAA Cards - Upto one third

Hello friends,
It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at AAA Cards . This fortnight use upto one third + if you want you can add masking. I challenged myself with masking too.

This time we have  CAS-ual Fridays  as our lovely sponsors and they are giving $25 gift voucher to our winner.

I have used CAS-ual Fridays Tutu stamp for my card. I stamped the darkest red and masked it to stamp the next ballerina in coral and then masked the coral one to stamp the third ballerina in light pink. I thought stamping from dark to light would give an illusion of my ballerina in move.

We have lovely Julie B of Handcrafted by Jules as our guest deigner, please hop on to her blog to see the beauty she created. And to be inspired by our fabulous design team check out the challenge (here). Hope you like my card and will join with your CAS creations for this challenge.

Timeout challenges These words are all about 'being happy and strong' just like my ballerina!

Beautiful birthday wishes

Hello everyone,
I love to play at challenges and they actually take me away from my comfort zone, so I get to learn new techniques. My friend Anila who's a DT member at Inkspirational has chosen kraft as the challenge and her beautifully pencil coloured card made me want to color florals too.  I needed Birthday cards and thought I'll make a floral card to play at few challenges and also try coloring on kraft.
I started by stamping the flowers from Create a smile - Pure poppies with versamark on my kraft cardstock and coloured them with Polychromos color pencils. I added a white pencil very lightly to bring the flower in focus. I don't know if it's helping. I stamped the sentiment in Memento tuxedo black and heat embossed it with clear EP, to get a bold black look.

Though in Europe Poppy has a different meaning in India it's a flower spoken about in scriptures for medicinal properties and yeah 'giving you a high' too. Opium Poppy is a legal licensed farming…

Beautiful Chrysanthemum

Hello everyone,

I wanted to use my new stencil, Uniko's Pure florals stencil - chrysanthemum and try a new technique for this card. I usually don't make an envelope along with the card but because this card was a square and I had no envelope in this size I thought I'll make one.

I sponged Picked raspberry Distress ink through the stencil at the places which are deeper in a flower and then I sponged the glass bead gel over the whole stencil. Have you tried sponging it, rather using the palette knife? I saw the video linked at CAS stencil challenge and thought I'll try that. I used a palette knife to put it on my dauber and sponged it. You know the best thing? You don't put as much as you would through a palette knife, it actually saves a lot of the expensive paste, if sponged (yay).

The photos don't do justice with the beauty of the glass bead gel. I also sponged versamark ink through the stencil on the flap of the envelope, to dress up my envelope which I made…

You are a princess 👸

Hello everyone,
I have been wanting to play with the stamp set my dear friend Deepti Didi (we call an elder sister didi) from Vishesh collections gifted me and I was inspired by another dear friend Anila's card on Inkspirational. And when I saw Frozen at CASology, I had to make this card.

Frozen.. sorry I can't think anything but the animated movie.. and this princess reminded me of Anna (minus the two plaits). Isn't it perfect for a little girl who's crazy for the Frozen princesses? or big girls who are equally crazy..hehe!

I used the same stamp set as Anila, it's by an Indian brand Itsy Bitsy. Also I used sponging to ground my images like she did on her elephant card.

The blabbering in the last post about the new stuff, I wont do it again, but I hope you like my card.

Joy at the Manger

Hello there,
I don't have many Christmas stamps, I never buy them because we don't celebrate Christmas. But this Christmas season.. I had a realised.. so what if I don't celebrate? my friends do and sadly I don't have enough cards to be sent to them.  I had seen this cutest manger stamp by our own Indian company Craftyscrappers and I had to buy this! They ship worldwide and you must check their cute designs. They have a collection of zodiac signs stamp sets..Oh..I am so itching to get those.
Well... here.. Look at that Baby Jesus.. Oh my my.. He is the cutest baby ever! Love the illustration. (Is the picture hazy? I thought I got the Jesus in focus and others out of focus)

This para can be skipped , it's just me blabbering - For my card I coloured my images with my recent possessions, Copic markers. I always loved our relatives living abroad but not as much as now.. hehehe. One of my uncle and a friend, both got me these and I was so happy.. so so happy, I can stil…

CIC 461 - Bloom in the garden

and welcome to the first challenge of the year at the Cupcake Inspirations. This time we have a theme challenge, Something New.

This challenge we have Sparkle and Sprinkle as our kind sponsor and they are giving away $15 gift certificate to our randomly chosen winner. I have used their Garden Silhouette Digital Stamp Set for my card (which is NEW). What else did I do, new? I have never tried a Silhouette card and background blending with a Digital image and it does come with it's problems, which I discovered later. So after trying this and that, I finally was able to finish this card.

I wanted the morning hues for my background and I used Spun Sugar Distress oxide and Seedless preserve for the blending. It was a quick card minus the disasters but next time I do it.. I know I'll make this quicker !
Hope you'll join us at the challenge with Something new- pull out a new technique, a new stamp set, or a new idea and get a great start on this new year! Happy Crafting :)
