Memories of the Last day at school

Hello everyone,
Me and my son had shifted our base since past 6 months as I was undergoing a course. We were staying at my parent's place and I put my two and a half year old in a playschool here. Now after 6 months, he surprises us with telling us, electricity starts with the letter E and Stagosaurus with S. This surely has his grand mother working behind the scenes. But we won't have him hold a pencil until his play group teacher said that he should join Nursery as the activities at play group do not keep him engaged. And so we did.
Today after five months, we are leaving this place and thought of meeting the kids in the class and his teachers for the last time. We planned to give the teachers a card. And he said.. I'll make a lion! there could be many ways but the idea struck us in the morning and we had roughly one hour to make the cards. Luckily I had a Lion in my stash of stamps and Ishir coloured it with his crayons. The teachers loved it. Especially with the handw…

Florals - With Love

Hello everyone,

Instagram is a major inspiration for me and the floral cards on my feed, made me want to make one too. And with Spring in the air, here in India, it's the right time. I also saw the Muse for this week and thought I could do something similar. Although I do not have flower dies, I thought I could use the stamped images. Also, I put them together in the bunch as in the Muse (again I didn't have a vase or cup.. to replicate the same). I also wanted to try this new embossing folder I bought so added in some texture with it, as in the muse. I combined the design to the sketch at YNS blog.

This card is definitely different from what I have made earlier but then I am glad I tried something different. And I am gonna definitely do more of it! Hope you like it.

Happy crafting!

Say Cheese

Hello dear crafters,

I have always admired repetitive stamped cards.. but I hadn't made any yet. So when Rahmat di from Cards and cooking corner sent me a card and generous gift of stamps. I thought I could try one with the camera stamp she sent.

White thanking her, I told her about it and she sent me a picture of one of her cards where she had done the repetitive stamping.

So I did something similar, coloured one of the cameras with the Zig clean colour brush pens. Added a die cut CHEESE and hand lettering for - Say.. for the sentiment.

Tadaa.. Say cheese!

Favourite butterflies

Hello there,

I love butterflies, am sure you love them too but sadly I have not yet purchased a butterfly stamp (am a crafter on a budget). But I did have a sentiment stamp that includes two butterflies. So, I thought I must give them some love too. So this the card that I made, where for the background I created a butterfly pattern paper, over which I have a panel with the sentiment. A little splash of colours with spring in the air.

My mom thought that there is something wrong with the sentiment..till she noticed a missing U.. for which she'll just have to get used to! Hope you like this card.

Die cut flower - stretching my dies

Hello dear friends,

I am a relatively new to die cutting, so I don't have many dies. But I love to stretch my limited supplies and I wanted to do the same for this card. The challenge this fortnight at Cupcake Inspirations is 'white out' and if this was itself not very daunting, I tried to incorporate die cutting with this.

Let me take you through how I made this super simple card.

1. I carefully die cut the cardstock with the leaf die. Curled the upper tips of the now - no more leaves but petals, to give some dimension.

2. I took a card base and adhered my die cut panel with a foam tape. Then at the center where the petals meet I put some glue. I put a very little quantity as I wanted the petals to not stick flat into the die cut shape. Then I placed my curled up petals.

3. Finished it off with a sentiment and a glitter bead for the center of the flower. I also used my glitter spectrum noir pen for some sheen on the petals. Too difficult to capture in the pictures though…

Birdies wishes

Hello dear friends,

My very sweet friend asked me to make a card for her husband on behalf of her and her daughter. Her husband is a fighter pilot and would be out of home for few months on a very important exercise (military tactics exercise). She wanted to wish him all the very  best for this important event and remind him that he can do it.

I had these cute dies from MFT dienamics and I thought I could make a scene apt for the theme. I die cut a circle and in the inner panel I adhered a blue cardstock. The flying bird has been given some dimension and adhered in the inner panel.

She liked it and I hope you like it too. Wishing her husband very Best of luck and linking it to

Thank you notes and cards

Hello everyone..

How's the mid week treating you? I have been super busy creating thank you notes for my professors at IIM Lucknow.

The thank you notes are for on the behalf of my class. For which I stamped the Thank you, did some brush lettering for the names of the professors and some normal hand lettering for the note.

I also wanted to give cards to few of my favourite professors and was thinking of a way to quickly mass produce. I had bought a really cheap stencil from my local stationery and wanted to try it too. So I used Faber Castell's Glass bead glitter gel for it.  Kept it to dry over night and attached a Thank you white embossed sentiment on a foam tape over the edge of the motifs. Put some more bling with sequins.

I chose black cardstock for this because in the previous card where I used this bead gel it didn't stand out!

The weird angles are to show you the lovely glittery effect. Hope you like my effort.

White Lily - CIC 440

Hello everyone,

This fortnight we have a new challenge for you at Cupcake inspiration challenges. It's a White out - Colour challenge. Oh I love colours and to think of having just white, was a little intimidating but I LOVE challenges, don't you?

I had my Uniko Lily stamp out, because of my previous card and this year's resolution of atleast making two card with one set before putting it back, made me use this flower. And white + lily = Sympathy card. Though I hope I never get to use it!

I used white embossing powder for heat embossing the lovely lily. I stamped two images, cut them around the edges and stuck few petals on top of each other. The background is inspired by Yana Smakula's card that I saw a couple of months back. And I had been waiting to create the similar bg. What had been stopping me was, that I don't have a scoring pad. So I did some measurements and scored the lines using the groove of my paper trimmer and used nuvo drops to get the quilted look…

Birthday wishes for my brave bear

Hello everyone,

I am looking forward to a productive weekend this time and lots of time to play with my kid too, now that all my exams are over! Yayy! My brother's birthday is approaching and I wanted to make a card for him. And Tracey's card at Muse card club was a perfect inspiration. My brother who's part of the Indian Army is combating infiltrators who sneak into the country to spread terror. He's positioned in the Himalayas and the rough terrain and harsh weather is what they face everyday. To us it's a picturesque view with mountains and snow fall.

I used the bear image from Jane's doodles  and as my water colours were out due to my previous card.. I gave the snow fall background with some emboss resist.. a die cut to show my bear in the snow and here are my wishes.

Here's my little brother who's no more any little..   posing in the snowfall with the mighty Himalayan backdrop.

Hope you like it!

Pink Watercolored Lily

Hope you are enjoying your weekend, as much as I am. After almost 5 months..I have a Saturday.. which I can call.. a weekend for me. And then.. how could I not make a card!

I took out my first stamp from an International company, Uniko's Pure florals - Lily. I remember so fondly how magnanimous Beverly was when I won this stamp and I didn't know if there was a budget.. under which I should choose. And this Lily was viral on Instagram.. so I was so happy to get this.

So, I had to make a birthday card to wish Uniko ltd, a very Happy 6th Birthday!

I used distress ink for stamping the Lily and coloured with Gansai Tambi watercolours. Then I used pencil colours to give those veins as the distress ink and water had lightened it. Fussy cut it and gave the edge a pink colour with a brush pen. I used stencil for the background and a die cut frame. And tadaa.. here's the card!

IQCG #44 Paper smooches

Hello friends,
Hope you had a loved filled day yesterday and some romantic time with your loved one. Also, I hope you have participated with your lovely work at the Indian Quilling Challenge for the month of February.

For my Design team inspiration, as soon as I saw the colour scheme of the challenge, the colors reminded me of shades of lipsticks and that's what I thought I'd make.

With this being the love month, it's the perfect time to shower kisses on your loved ones this whole month, to your heart's content.  I have tried to replicate that feeling of love with my card and the sentiment 'I love you the mostest'  with these Paper smooches😉 (sentiment is from Paper smooches - the company couldn't have been better!)

I have used 3mm strips in three colours for the lips. Cut out a heart shape to put my sentiment on, which I have white heat embossed.

I hope you like my card and also if you haven't joined us yet, you still have time. For more on rules chec…

CAS Love card

Hello dear crafters,

I got this cute waffle flower cross stitch heart die and worked my way through it as I actually didn't understand how it would work. I used a heart die which fit wonderfully around the cross stitch heart die.  Now that I have made this card.. I have figured out more ways to use it. But for now, this one is for the Valentine's day. With love theme in few of my favorite challenges I had to make one despite a very busy schedule. CAS cards for me, take more time in making in the conceptual stage than while  making it. However, despite knowing what I wanted, this die got me a little puzzled.

So here's my pure LOVE card with faux crossstitch !
