We are so thankful to our sponsors    Altenew    for sponsoring this challenge.  The  winner of the challenge will get $20 gift coupon to their store. As soon as I saw the photo and the white mandala on brown background it reminded me of what we make on Diwali, on our floors! It is called Aplana but could be called a Rangoli, though it is not colorful as a Rangoli, as it is made of Rice flour paste. It is a custom of the Northern state of Himachal Pradesh where my roots are from. Here is a photo that I finally found where I have made some designs on the floor with white Rice flour paste. Can you spot 2 of them in the centre? And two feet designs on the sides? And I tried our traditional custom for my card! I used Spellbind

Mental health Day - Blog hop + Video tutorial

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome to Mental Health Day blog hop, where a group of card makers are representing the art of card making via our beautiful cards on the theme of 'Art for your mind'. When we think of the word- Mental health, one might think of issues like Depression, Schizophrenia or Bipolar disorder. But even stress, anxiety are forms of mental health issues. If these are left unmanaged for long time, they may need medical attention. Art helps us to relax and rewind from everyday stress. There is a sense of happiness in creating art, which is therapeutic. When we enjoy the process of creating art, we tend to forget the negative emotions and stress. As part of Mental Health Day Hop, we would like to reinforce this fact that art and craft are therapeutic. We encourage all of you to take some time every week, if not everyday, to pursue some hobby like drawing, coloring, doodling, card making or whatever is your pick. Check out some websites, which talk more about Mental health
