Guest designer at CAS on Friday - Christmas

Image
Hello everyone,
It's an honour to be invited as a Guest designer at CAS on Friday for this fortnight's challenge, Christmas. Thank you so much for this opportunity. I have made a card with the prize I recently received, from Uniko stampsWinter foliage and a background stamp and sentiment by Hero arts - Holiday florals and Merry Christmas message.

Though I am not a Christian, I have loved this festival since I was a child and watched Home alone- part I movie. Me and my brother would get the Ashoka tree or even Gum arabica tree ( when we lived in Arid areas) and decorate it! And our parents always bought us gifts and our Christian friends would send us amazing Christmas cakes. Lovely memories!
I hope you like this card. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas from us in India :)

Tutu cute ballerina

Image
Hello everyone,
I bet even you love to twirl... I have never been a ballerina but I love to twirl when I wear lehengas. They are skirts that rise .. when you twirl. I just bought a lehenga for my brother's marriage and I also carried this stamp set to my parent's place while leaving home. Few of the challenges made me itch to make a card with it! And I burnt midnight oil as during the day we are too occupied with preparations for the upcoming wedding.

I am just carrying very basic things with me so I didn't have a masking paper or a big stamp/ mirror stamp to create the shadow. I am carrying just one acrylic block. So I put my stamp under a glass tumbler and stamped with a light brown ink on the block and pressed the block on the paper. Didn't come out fine initially, but I think I learnt how to do it in my 7th attempt. I was sad that I wasted paper as I had planned to do the reflection on my panel (planned an OLC) and it didn't come crisp. After some irritating m…

Make a wish

Image
Hello everyone,

I have been colouring whenever I get time and next time I'll be more meticulous, I hope. But the images that I coloured for Kath R's- the daily marker challenge are really very handy for a quick card.

I had this cutie from Super powers stamp set by Create a smile that I coloured for the challenge.

Now, I have a quick card with some resist technique for the background and ink smooshing. For some Magical elements I have used Wink of Stella and Glossy accents for the lovely fairy's wings and the wand.

Hello there,
It's almost December! Do you feel the Christmas cheer yet? If no then this challenge will get you in the holiday spirit, if yes, ten come over and play along. This fortnight we have a theme challenge - The Holidays at Cupcake Inspirations. We have our lovely sponsor Sprinkle N sparkle generously providing a $15 gift certificate to our randomly chosen winner.

I used the Snowman couple digital image for my card and used Zig brush markers for colouring them. They are the cutest Snowman couple I have come across, aren't they?

Hope you'll join us with your projects for the holidays. Hop onto the blogfor more inspiration from the Design Sweeties. Hope to see you there.

Hello everyone,
I am glad you stopped by! There is a new challenge up at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge and we would love to see you use Shades of gold.

For my card I used two of the prettiest stamps and heat embossed them in gold. For the background I have used the background stamp, Full on Floral and the Thank you is from the stampset, Flower-power

I am sure you would stun us with your shades of gold at this challenge. Do check out the challenge, the design team's dazzling interpretations will surely inspire you.

Michele is also generously offering a $25 gift certificate to the overall winner at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. And if that weren't enough, if the chosen winner has used CAS-ual Fridays stamps and/or dies as the main focus in the card, that gift certificate will increase to $50.

See you at the challenge. Happy crafting everyone.

Wonderful Super mouse

Hello everyone,
This month has been flying, so many festivals, holidays, fancy dress at my son's kindergarten, even though I wanted to utilise Kathy Racoosin's colouring challenge, I have not been able to. I am sure the Super Mouse from Create a smile stamps, saw my condition and came to rescue me from procrastinating.

I had done a card with a cute MFT dog here, last year and that time I wasn't sure whose card had I seen. But now I know that the card that inspired me the first time was Francine Vuilleme's. I had no clue what was first and second generation stamping while making my dog card, but now almost an year after it, I know more techniques and I used second and third generation stamping for my third and fourth faded movement. The second stamping is with grey ink. I coloured with the Zig and Camel water based markers. The sky is sponged with Hero arts soft pool behind my die cut cloud and the sentiment is by Kaisercraft.
I hope you like my attempt.

Gorgeous in red

Image
Hello everyone,

I was missing making cards so much that now every day I have one ready ! This card is using the amazing stamp set I bought at a Destash and what a buy it is! It is called Ladies day out from Altenew. I was inspired by a few challenges and thought to give it a holiday feel with the red dress.

I don't think I have had so much red ever on a card, but I think it looks nice. I have friends who'd love a red dress card for their birthday. The gorgeous die is from a wafer die from Simon says stamp and Happy birthday from MFT stamps.

Hope you like it!
Happy crafting everyone.

Hello there,
Hope you had a great weekend. This fortnight we have a colour challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. We have our lovely sponsors Poppy stamps  is generously providing a $20 gift certificate to our randomly chosen winner.

I made a card that though took time in conceptualizing,  as I couldn't think of what can I do with the browns. While going through my stamps and dies, I saw this NBUS - Recollections die that a friend had bought from Micheal's at US for me. I feel ashamed that I haven't used it in 3 months that I have had it for and thankful for friends who think of me when they visit abroad.

So some ink smooshing with all the browns I had, few from Altenew and also Distress inks and selective touches with the brown from Jane Davenport brush pen onthe flowers. Wink of Stella and glossy accents make anything - more pretty, so some of that .. and voila!

A close up - to show the gloss ;)

Hope you'll join us with your 'shades of brown'. Hop onto the blog f…

For a gem of a person

Hello there,
Thank you for stopping by. Are you coloring for the daily marker challenge? I did! Though I thought, I will only color this diamond from Heffy doodle stamp's - Geology Rocks but then I ended up building my bicep with some ink - blending! This is all because of Yana Smakula's recent videos that I watched while holidaying! Did you see how she reduced the blending and your chance of building muscles by using colored cardstock? If you haven't here it is.

I colored my diamond with Zig brush pens, distress ink blending for background and a white gel pen for the sparkle! I hope you like it.
Happy creating :)

The kind hedgehog

Image
Hello everyone,
We have been very busy during the week with our festival Diwali and a holiday time at school too. Now that there was not much occupying our time and the daily marker challenge is on too, we - that's me and my son planned to catch up.
This cutie is from Create a smile stamp and I just received my prize for a win at their challenge and had to colour these! My son used his stash of crayons and I tried my hand with my limited stash of Copic makers. I have just started using copic markers and you'll see glaring mistakes, hope I'll learn soon to color better.

How lovely it is when someone gets you a hot cup of soup when you have sniffles. This kind hedgehog gets you a mug of soup and is so sweet to say if - if you need something, let me know. Now that's the kind of neighbours I have, those who brighten my dull days! Blessed to have them.
Hope you like my kind little fella and have a great weekend!
Happy crafting.

CFC 212 - Thinking about you

Image
Hello there,
It's friday and CAS-ual Fridays Challenge has a new sketch challenge for this fortnight.

I have been using the 4 petal fri-dies, like crazy! I just love them. I improvised and made leaves from the petals with a green paper for my flowers and added grey dots on my white panel. I had seen it being done on a card by Julie Ebersole with black on her card and I have been wanting to try it. The sentiment is from the set - Calm and loving.

I am sure you would stun us with your creativity at this challenge. Do check out the challenge, the design team has put their creativity to interpret this sketch, to inspire you to join us.

Michele has also generously offered up a $25 gift certificate to the overall winner at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. And if that weren't enough, if the chosen winner has used CAS-ual Fridays stamps and/or dies as the main focus in the card, that gift certificate will increase to $50.

Happy crafting everyone.
